Nucor’s steel framing systems offer a blend of performance and exceptional design flexibility, making them a great fit for a custom steel building. Their framing systems include our:
Gable – Clear Pan Rigid Frame.
This frame is designed to be symmetrical or asymmetrical and is suitable for those using the ClearBay option; it is considered one of the most flexible metal frames in Nucor’s lineup.
Gable – Modular Rigid Frame.
The Gable – Modular Frame is an economical frame that uses the interior load-bearing columns to better distribute the building’s load and can reduce the size of the rafters and columns in the space.
Single Slope – Rigid Frame.
The Single Slope frame is designed for a single-plane sloping roof. This frame is considered an economical way to add to an existing structure and is an excellent option for building sites where drainage restrictions must be taken into account.
Lean-to steel frame
Lean-to Steel Frames are another great option for extending or expanding your overall square footage. These frames are supported on the high side by an adjoining building column and are not designed for standalone use.

Roof Panel Systems.
Nucor’s roof panel systems are designed to fit perfectly with their framing systems, creating an all-in-one solution that performs in all four seasons. The CFR Standing Seam Roof System is the crème de la crème, approved for wind uplift, hail, and fire resistance, and secured by the Vice Lock and Vice Lock 360. In addition to the CFR roof panels, Nucor also offers Vertical Rib Standing Seam, R-Panel and Translucent Roof Panels.

Do Nucor Building Systems meet building codes?
Yes, Nucor works with federal authorities and state departments to ensure its building systems comply with both federal and state building codes. Here at Boyers, we install these systems to meet local codes and are well-versed in working with Northwest Ohio Building Inspectors and navigating any specific local variations we need to address during the erection of the building.
What comes in a Nucor building kit?
Nucor is an all-in-one supplier of commercial and agricultural building systems. As such, the packages we receive from Nucor will include the primary and secondary structural pieces, connection bolts, sheeting, trim, flashing, roof materials, fasteners, gutters, downspouts, and any selected accessories or additions you may have chosen during the design process.
What are the lead times from final design to when you can start erecting the building?
Naturally, this will depend on your specific project, but assuming we need minimal site prep and all permits are in place, we can start the foundation pour within a couple of weeks. With the building's erection following that, the total project takes anywhere between four and twelve weeks, depending on the complexity of your project.
Do you need to maintain your building once it is erected?
Yes, you will need to complete routine maintenance on your building to keep your Nucor warranty in effect. The process is straightforward and can be found in their Preventive Maintenance Manual, which details the maintenance you need to perform for each component of your building. From roofs and wall panels to crane installation instructions, this manual is the bible you can turn to whenever you have a question about your Nucor building materials.
