Building Dimensions.

One of the most important aspects of any design is the building dimensions. You can play around with all the dimensions, including the width, length, and height, down to the foot. This section of the drafting software will also allow you to change the roof type (gabled or single-slope), roof pitch, and frame finish (grey or red iron), giving you a solid base for your 3D rendering. 

Colors.

Next, we move to the fun part, and that is the color of the building itself. We offer over 25 colors for you to choose from and can offer full customization in terms of roof color, wall color, trim color, soffit color and the color of the large doors on your building. From Arctic White and Midnight Black to something flashier, such as Aztec Blue or Cypress Green, you can embrace your exterior designer and go crazy.

The next part of the process is to determine the exterior walls of the metal building. For instance, if you are looking to construct a commercial or industrial building, you will most likely want to include all four walls in the build. If you are looking for equipment storage or an agricultural building, you may want to consider an open side for easy access. You can also choose to add a wainscot for looks, or not. 

Roof overhangs.

Yes, we go into detail on our designs, which means talking about roof overhangs. These roof overhang options provide additional protection against snow and rain and can be customized in increments of 1, with 5 being the largest. You do not need to add a roof overhang, but most of our clients opt for it, as it not only looks professional but also provides an added layer of protection against water at entry points. This section of the software will also allow you to select the type of roof material, whether it is a screw-down roof or a more durable standing-seam roof. 

Single Slope Extensions.

A single-slope extension attaches to the wall and provides additional space and coverage for your building with a single sloped roof. These extensions are normally used for livestock bays in barns or additional storage off your main building. You can customize everything from the drop to the roof pitch and even the type of walls on the extension.   

Gable extensions.

A gable extension is an A-frame style extension that can be enclosed or open. You can add this extension to any side of your building, and it provides ample storage space for equipment, products, or anything else you have in mind. The benefit of a gable extension is that you get additional space that can be incorporated into the building as part of an open-concept design or as a separate entrance, perfect for safe, secure storage of chemicals, fertilizers, or other secure materials. 

Porches.

Porches are a great alternative to roof overhangs, providing additional exterior coverage for your building. Our porches come in endwall, wrap, and wrap-hip options to give you full 365-degree coverage, if you would like.

Our window and door options make natural light and entrances a breeze. We offer picture windows, slider windows and hopper windows as stock options. For our access doors, we have solid, double, half-glass and half-glass double doors. For those looking for larger doors, we also have overhead commercial doors for easy in-and-out access for equipment and deliveries. 

Interior.

Finally, we offer a few options for interior features. This includes solid partition walls, custom liner panels around the exterior walls, mezzanine bays to provide additional storage above your floor and steel ceilings to enclose the space.

    Yes, our 3D rendering software is free to use. You can also print your design, save your design and share it with your partners and family. If you are close to the exact look that you want, you can also send it to our team, and we would be happy to offer you a free quote for the building that you designed.  

  • Can I get further customizations than what is on the design your building page?

    Yes, our steel buildings are fully custom, and our design-build team can help make any further adjustments or additions you require. We are happy to do this and can set up a call to discuss your specific building needs at a time that is convenient for you.  

  • Do you offer your 3D designer for residential homes?

    No, our 3D designer page is designed for custom steel and metal buildings for commercial, agricultural and industrial uses. We have also built these buildings for residential clients, especially those on larger plots of land. For our custom home-building services, you will need to reach out to our residential design-build team, who are more than happy to work with you to design your dream home and build it here in Northwest Ohio and throughout the Ohio Valley.
